Drew Markwell (a 14-year-old boy scout in Troop 13, Plainfield, Illinois) has been selected to attend the National Boy Scout Jamboree starting July 26, 2010 as part of the Rainbow Council Contingent. This will mark the Centennial of the Boy Scouts of America, and is sure to be a spectacular event. However, there is a cost to going, and the 43,000 scouts attending are encouraged to come up with fund raisers to help their cause. Drew has talked to his family submitted an idea to the Rainbow Council Boy Scout office in which he receives donations to his cost, and based on the dollar amount donated, various members of his family will shave their hair. The local council approved this fund raiser, and the progress is listed below.
